KATHMANDU, Feb 16: A mechanical test flight (calibration flight) will be carried out at Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA) which is under-construction in Bhairahawa from February 18 to 27. The calibration flights will be conducted for 10 days. GBIA is a project of national pride.
Issuing a public notice on Tuesday, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) stated that a 'calibration flight' is about to take place. The responsibility of carrying out the flights has been given to Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (AERO THAI). AERO THAI's aircraft will land at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on February 17. The flight will be carried in the Kathmandu-Bhairahawa sector.

The work related to the physical construction and equipment connection of Gautam Buddha Airport has been completed. The CAAN has apologized for the inconvenience caused to the airlines and passengers as the flight and landing time at Gautam Buddha Airport will be delayed during the flight. After the test flight, commercial flights will be conducted to and from the airport.
