SAPTARI, Oct 22: A 13-point memorandum has been presented to President Bidya Devi Bhandari, calling for declaring the Chhinnamasta temple as a religious tourism site.
Former chairman of the Chhinnamasta VDC, Satya Narayan Yadav, made the submission to President Bhandari on behalf the people of the Saptari District at a special function organised at the temple premises today.
Among other things, the 'request letter' to the President calls for provision of adequate budget for the construction of the Chhinnamasta-Rajbiraj-Rupani-Gaighat Road, reoperation of the Rajbiraj Airport on a regular basis, developing the Gajendra Narayan Singh Industrial Zone, re-operation of the Govindapur and Banainiya border customs and extension of the Nirmali Railway Station which is 30 kilometres from the Chhinnamasta temple up to the border with Chhinnamasta.
Similarly, construction of a modern shelter and guest house for pilgrims at the temple premises, full construction of the Rajbiraj Road, assigning doctors at the health post and making arrangement for operating ambulance service are other demands included in the request letter.
Likewise, the request letter demands upgrading the only Sanskrit school in the district into a higher secondary school; constructing the Chhinnamasta, Banainia and Shambhunath roads; reconstructing the Raj Stadium at Rajbiraj and upgrading the Gaje ndra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital. RSS
