Calling female filmmakers for ‘IAWRT  Short Film Festival 2021’

The IAWRT Nepal Chapter, an international umbrella organization of women journalists working in radio, television, magazines and online, has opened the application for the third IWART Short Film Festival 2021.

The IAWRT Nepal Chapter, an international umbrella organization of women journalists working in radio, television, magazines and online, has opened the application for the third IAWRT Short Film Festival 2021.

Monteshwari Rajbhandari, chairperson of IAWRT Nepal Chapter, said that the film festival has been organized since 2018 to increase the participation of women in the fields of film production, direction and writing according to a press statement released by IAWRT Nepal.


In order to participate in the short film festival, the film has to be 3 to 15 minutes long; directed by a female director and it has to be in FHD format. The deadline for the submission of application is November 16, 2021, the press statement quoted Ichchha Gurung, coordinator of the short film festival.


It added that students studying in the field of film, media persons, and those who are interested in filmmaking in various fields have been participating in the festival. Due to the global spread of corona infection, the film festival has been running through virtual media since 2019 and this year it will be held through virtual media as well, according to the organizers.


Last year, Sangita Shrestha's ‘Ice Cream’ and Rajila Shrestha's ‘Lakhe’ were the winners while Nisha Manandhar's ‘I’m a fighter’ was the first runner-up.
