Campaign launched in the United States to save Bhattarai's life

KATHMANDU, March 19: Amrit Bhattarai from Gorkha's Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality has been receiving treatment in the United States for kidney failure for the past few months.

KATHMANDU, March 19: Amrit Bhattarai from Gorkha's Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality has been receiving treatment in the United States for kidney failure for the past few months.


Bhattarai's both kidneys have already been damaged and now undergoing treatment in San Francisco. Bhattarai, who comes from a middle-class family, cannot afford the medical fees in the United States.


Hence, he is coming to India for further treatment next week. It needs at least NRS 5 million for the same, according to his friends.  One can donate kidneys to save the life of Bhattarai, whose condition is said to be very critical.

A fundraising drive was launched last week in a bid to save his life. Nepali diaspora in the United States have already started collecting funds for his treatment. So far, NRS 1 million has been raised for the purpose. According to his friends, it requires additional NRS 4 million by the end of this week for his treatment.
