CAN announce Nepali team for ICC T20 World Cup Final Asia Qualifier, Sandeep Lamichhane also part of the team

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced the names of the Nepali team for the ICC T20 World Cup Final Asia Qualifier. Notably, Sandeep Lamichhane, who voluntarily opted  out the previous match, has made a return to the 15-member squad.

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced the names of the Nepali team for the ICC T20 World Cup Final Asia Qualifier. Notably, Sandeep Lamichhane, who voluntarily opted  out the previous match, has made a return to the 15-member squad.


Spinner Surya Tamang, Shyam Dhakal, Sagar Dhakal and batsman Lokesh Bam have been left out of the squad while Sandeep Lamichhane, whose was absent during the triangular T20 series citing personal reasons, is now back in action.

The ICC T20 World Cup Final Asia Qualifier is scheduled to take place from October 30 to November 6 at the Mulpani and TU Cricket Grounds. In Group A, Nepal will face tough competition from Singapore, Oman, and Malaysia, while Group B includes UAE, Bahrain, Hong Kong, and Kuwait. The top two teams from each group will secure a spot in the finals, with the opportunity to participate in the T20 World Cup next year in the United States and the West Indies.


Nepali team for the qualifier includes Rohit Paudel (captain), Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee, Sandeep Zora, Gulshan Jha, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Abhinash Bohra, Pratish GC, Bivek Yadav, Sandeep Lamichhane, Lalit Rajbanshi and Binod Bhandari.
