CAN Federation urges govt to rethink TikTok ban

KATHMANDU, Nov 15: The Federation of Computer Association of Nepal has said there would be support in country's economy if an arrangement for operation and regulation of TikTok was made in line with law.

KATHMANDU, Nov 15: The Federation of Computer Association of Nepal has said there would be support in country's economy if an arrangement for operation and regulation of TikTok was made in line with law.   


Issuing a press release, the CAN Federation urged the government to rethink its decision bearing the reality in the mind that the development of information technology have both opportunities and challenges.

It further said that it would be appropriate to regulate Tiktok as it has become the medium for small and middle-scale entrepreneurs to expand their market.


"CAN Federation urges the government to hold talks and coordinate with experts for the proper use of all types of social sites available in Nepal. We are ready to collaborate with the government for any technical cooperation from the position of private sector", reads the statement.
