Sandeep case: Police start collecting evidence and taking state...
The police said that there is enough evidence to prove the rape charge against him. The police completed the investigation a week ago and submitted the report to the Kathmandu District Attorney Office. The hearing on the case against Lamichhane is going to start from Monday itself. He is going to fight the case against him in the court from the police custody.
In the report, it was mentioned that according to the provision of 10 to 12 years of imprisonment for those who rape a girl between the age of 16 and 18 years in the National Criminal Procedure Code, a prison sentence of up to 12 years should be demanded.
On September 6, a 17-year-old girl lodged a complaint at Gaushala Police Station, accusing Lamichhane of raping her in a hotel room. Lamichhane surrendered to the police on October 6. He has been denying the allegations leveled against him.
