Charge sheet filed against three including Under Secretary

KATHMANDU, March 20: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a charge sheet against Chief of the Department of Transport Management Office in Sukedhara and two other officials at the Special Court on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, March 20: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a charge sheet against Chief of the Department of Transport Management Office in Sukedhara and two other officials at the Special Court on Tuesday. 


Office Chief Under-Secretary Sundar Bhattarai, section officer Yam Lal Dhakal and Nayab Subba Yadav Poudel have been charged with indulging in corruption by giving Nepali recognition to the foreign driving license of 855 persons. They had worked to forge documents of the concerned Embassy, Department of Consular Service, VISA and the driving license.

The CIAA has charged them with corruption amounting to Rs. 504,850, and demanded penalty and imprisonment as per Corruption Prevention Act, 2059 B.S. 


Paralegal Raju Sedai was also arrested in course of the investigation who had worked with Naya Subba Poudel to collect a bribe of Rs. 80,000 from the service recipient. The CIAA has also sought Rs. 80,000 from Sedai and penalty cum imprisonment as per the Act. RSS
