KASKI, June 30: A child has drowned while swimming in a pond with his friends. The incident took place on Saturday evening. Nischal Thapa,11, of Kilchowk in Myade Rural Municipality of Tanahu died on the spot in the incident.

Thapa had been living with his aunt for the past few days, when he went swimming in a pond on the banks of the Seti river in Puditar of ward no. 33 of Pokhara metropolis. Thapa had gone for swimming with two other friends, when the incident took place and he died on the spot, according to DSP at the District Police Office, Karki Raj Kumar KC.
The body was recovered later the same night by professional divers.
