KATHMANDU, Feb 2: Children aged above 17 and below 18 have demanded to be vaccinated against COVID-19 amid a vaccination program administering COVID-19 vaccines to children aged 12-17 under the direction of the government.
Earlier, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) decided to administer vaccines against COVID-19 to children aged 12-17 from January 29, who have not received any dose of the vaccine under the direction of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. Following the announcement, children aged above 17 and below 18 have also requested to be vaccinated.

According to KMC Education Officer Ram Prasad Subedi, the process to vaccinate children of this age group will soon start. There are as many as 90 community schools and over 500 private schools in KMC.
Currently, the government is conducting vaccination programs to over 65,000 children from Chauni and Thapathali hospitals.
