Chilime Hydropower proposes Investment Board to construct two hydropower projects with capacity 168 MW

KATHMANDU, Oct 15: Chilime Hydropower Company Limited (CHCL) has proposed Investment Board Nepal (IBN) to build two hydropower projects with a total capacity of 168 MW.

KATHMANDU, Oct 15: Chilime Hydropower Company Limited (CHCL) has proposed Investment Board Nepal (IBN) to build two hydropower projects with a total capacity of 168 MW.


According to the IBN, the CHCL on Friday submitted a proposal before the Board, seeking to develop an 87 MW semi-storage Seti River-3 (SR-3) project in Bajhang district. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 19.66 billion.

The CHCL has also planned to build 81 MW Budhi Gandaki Prok RoR project in Gorkha district. The company has estimated the cost at Rs 16.45 billion.


The CHCL is a hydropower developer established in public-private-participation. Currently, the company owns and operates a 22.1 MW hydropower project in Rasuwa district. The CHCL is also leading the projects like 102 MW Madhya Bhotekoshi, 42.5 MW Sanjen, 14.8 MW Upper Sanjen and 111 MW Rasuwagadhi hydropower projects, which are under construction.
