KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi met with Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Matrika Prasad Yadav, at the latter's office on Friday.
Receiving the ambassador, Yadav thanked the government of China for its support to Nepal, and hoped for further and stronger relationship between the two nations.
Chinese envoy calls on Industry Minister Bhandari
Yadav said that Nepal was in the midst of an economic drive and was aiming to sustain its growth through foreign investment.The minster asked the ambassador to persuade Chinese investors to invest in different sectors of the country.
The minister also said that the visit of Bidhya Devi Bhandari, President of Nepal, to China was a rare opportunity to move forward with Transportation Agreement Protocol that the two countries had agreed upon. Yadav also expressed his gratitude towards China's help to access the iron ore in Nawalparasi.
Mentioning the remarkable economic progress of China in the last 40 years, the ambassador said that the Chinese experience may come handy for Nepal. She also expressed that the "One Belt One Road" initiative of the Chinese government under Xi Jinping would help Nepal to further sustain and improve its economic growth and create a lot of opportunities.
Yanqi also reassured the minster that the Chinese government was always ready to help Nepal.
