KATHMANDU, June 15: Chinese language training was imparted to tourist police. The two-month-long language training was delivered to the tourist police in collaboration with the tourist police, Immersion Mandarin Academy (IMA) and East China University of Technology.
Handing over certificates to the participants on Wednesday, secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Suresh Adhikari said the language training would help the tourist police in communicating with Chinese tourists and fix the latter's problems. He highlighted the need for imparting other language training to the tourist police.

Nepali Ambassador to China, Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, said that knowing the languages of the neighboring countries can be helpful in easily dealing with various issues at the country-to-country as well as the people-to-people levels.
Councilor of Chinese Embassy Wangchhin, director-general of Nepal Tourism Board Gom Prasad Luitel and Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police Sugandha Shrestha, among others said the training would further incentivize the tourist police to deliver their services. The IMA developed a separate curriculum for the training imparted to the tourist police, according to IMA proprietor Pramila Tamang.
