KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Rastriya Janamorcha Party Chair Chitra Bahadur KC has hinted the possibility of an electoral alliance with the democratic forces.
Speaking at Reporters’ Club in Kathmandu on Wednesday, he said he was not surprised to hear the electoral alliance among the CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Center) and the Naya Shakti Nepal.
He further added that he saw no possibility of unification among these three political parties in the days ahead as proclaimed by them.
Alliance is against regressive force: Chair KC
Also speaking at the programme, CPN (ML) General Secretary CP Mainali said they were not going in the party unification process before the elections. “Electoral alliance announced among the UML, CPN (MC) and the Naya Shakti is the beginning of positive steps,” he added.
Similarly, Vice Chair of CPN -Revolutionary Maoist, CP Gajurel, said efforts undertaken for leftist unity were wrong. Accusing the three political parties of lying the people thorough the promise to form an alliance of the Communist parties, he said the ‘electoral alliance’ declared among them was meaningless.
CPN (MC) leader Dinanath Sharma claimed that the election alliance forged among the UML, CPN (MC) and the Nayashakti would cause no impact on the incumbent coalition government. “Party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal met with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur to formally inform the later about efforts undertaken for the leftist alliance,” he added.
The upcoming elections would be conducted by the Deuba government, he said, taking the time to claim that unity among the parties would do better for the nation and people.
