Chitwan Football Club clinches title

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Chitwan Football Club has clinched the title of 1st Madan Sports Cup Nine A Side Veteran Knockout Football Tournament on Tuesday. In the summit clash played in Chandragiri, Chitwan defeated host Madan Bhandari Sports Academy 3-0. Rabindra Shrestha netted one goal for Chitwan while the remaining two goals were gifted as own goals by Madan Bhandari Sports Academy.

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Chitwan Football Club has clinched the title of 1st Madan Sports Cup Nine A Side Veteran Knockout Football Tournament on Tuesday. In the summit clash played in Chandragiri, Chitwan defeated host Madan Bhandari Sports Academy 3-0. Rabindra Shrestha netted one goal for Chitwan while the remaining two goals were gifted as own goals by Madan Bhandari Sports Academy. 



Winning team Chitwan won a purse of Rs 100,000 while the runner-up Madan Bhandari was awarded with Rs 50,000. Narottam Gautam of Madan Bhandari was declared 'player of the tournament' while Channu Ram Chaudhary of Chitwan was adjudged the best goalkeeper of the tournament. Night King Club's Rabi Maharjan and Chitwan's Rabindra Shrestha were jointly declared as highest goal scorers with four goals each. The four-day event saw participation of altogether eight teams.
