Chitwan Tigers win

KATHMANDU, Sept 30: Chitwan Tigers has started the Aadhi Aabadi Women’s Volleyball Tournament with a straight 3-0 sets win over the departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club on Saturday.


At the National Sports Council (NSC)’s Covered Hall in Tripureshwar, Tigers, who had three American players, won the first set 25-21, the second set 25-13, and the third set 25-22 to win the match. The tournament, which is being organized by the Nepal Volleyball Association (NVA) and the Aadhi Awadhi Foundation, will run till October 3.

The tournament is played in the league cum knockout format with the participating teams being divided into two teams. The Group A has Shivan New Diamond Academy, Chitwan Tigers and Army, while the departmental teams Armed Police Force (APF) Club, Nepal Police Club and Pokhara Pinkage are in Group B. The top two teams of each group will reach the semifinals.
