CIAA files case against eight people including CAO of Humla

BIRENDRANAGAR, July 11: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case against eight people including a chief administrative officer (CAO). The case has been filed at the Special Court against CAO Bishnu Bahadur Shahi of Chankheli Rural Municipality of Humla.

BIRENDRANAGAR, July 11: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case against eight people including a chief administrative officer (CAO). The case has been filed at the Special Court against CAO Bishnu Bahadur Shahi of Chankheli Rural Municipality of Humla.


The Commission has filed a case against CAO Shahi, Ward Chairman, Chairman of the Consumer Committee, etc. In the investigation by the CIAA, it was found that the surveyor's bill, work completion report and the customer's bill were invoiced falsely by claiming that the construction of a tank had been completed.

The CIAA issued a fine approximate to Rs 648,000 each against CAO Shahi, Engineer Man Bahadur, Technical Assistant Gobhardhan Bohora, Accountant Nabin Regmi, Ward Chairman of Chankheli Rural Municipality-2 Harihar Upadhyay, Chairman of Devkota Ward Drinking Water Tank Construction Consumer Committee Gopal Bishwokarma, Secretary Prayog Lal Jaishi and Treasurer Nanda Devi Devkota.


The CIAA conducted an investigation after receiving a complaint that the entire amount was embezzled by submitting a fake bill of reimbursement.
