PALPA, May 4: District Police Office, Palpa has taken two transport entrepreneurs under control for halting public vehicular services on Friday.
The arrested include Kiran Chitrakar, treasure of Shreenagar Transport Entrepreneurs Association and Bikash Bhattarai, district in-charge of Pashchim Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs Association. Chitrakar is also a cine artist com comedian.
The government arrested the transport entrepreneurs in line with the Essential Services Operation Act 2014 BS after they halted public vehicular services in protest of the government’s decision to scrap syndicate system.

According to Bishnu Prasad Dhakal, Chief District Officer of Palpa district, Chitrakar and Bhattarai were taken under control from Tansen this afternoon. Both the arrested have been kept at the District Police Office.
“A search for other transport entrepreneurs is underway,” said DSP Binod Pokharel.
Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entreprenerus Association (FNNTEA) has been upping the ante against the government's decision to scrap the syndicate system.
On April 17, the Cabinet had decided to scrap all the transport committees and related associations to permanently end the sysdicate system.
