Issuing a public statement on Sunday, the Chabahil-based Om Hospital and Research Center stated that it has run out of its capacity to admit new patients amid the crisis of oxygen.

“Though we are ready to treat the patients, we are unable to take new admissions as the amount of oxygen supplied by the government on a quota-basis won’t be sufficient for new patients,” the hospital said.

The hospital also cited a manpower crunch to treat further patients at the hospital. “We’ll resume our services as usual once the regular supply of oxygen is ensured.”

Five other private hospitals in the Kathmandu Valley --- Helping Hands, Ganeshman Singh, Dirghayu Guru, Medicare and Nepal-India Friendship Hospital - said on Saturday that they could not treat more corona-infected patients due to the lack of medical oxygen.
