Coalition will not forge alliance with UML in the upcoming election: NC Spokesperson Mahat

KATHMANDU, April 17: Nepali Congress (NC) Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that there could be competition between the ruling alliances in the local level elections. Spokesperson Mahat said that the ruling coalition parties think that they will win the election on their own, which will be a friendly competition.

KATHMANDU, April 17: Nepali Congress (NC) Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that there could be competition between the ruling alliances in the local level elections. Spokesperson Mahat said that the ruling coalition parties think that they will win the election on their own, which will be a friendly competition.


During a meeting of the Central Working Committee held at the party's central office in Sanepa on Saturday, Dr Mahat clarified that the coalition parties had agreed at the top level not to coordinate the election with the UML under any circumstances.

Leader Dr Mahat said that if there is a difference of opinion among the coalition parties, there will be competition in the election. He reminded that all the local level candidates except the mayor and deputy mayor of the metropolis and sub-metropolis will be decided by the alliance of the concerned committees.


He also alerted the local coalition parties to immediately report any problem to the center. According to spokesperson Dr Mahat, the meeting of the party's ongoing Central Working Committee is holding discussion on the modalities to decide candidates for mayor and deputy mayor of the metropolis.
