Collective effort can uplift women's economic standard: Basnet

BHAKTAPUR, Dec 23: Former Minister and Member of Parliament Mahesh Basnet has said that collective effort can help uplift the economic situation of women while also preserving capital and promoting savings.

BHAKTAPUR, Dec 23: Former Minister and Member of Parliament Mahesh Basnet has said that collective effort can help uplift the economic situation of women while also preserving capital and promoting savings.

Distributing goats and sewing machines to various women groups of the district at a function organised by Manawiya Ashtha Nepal, an NGO here today, he said income-generation prgoramme are essential to help women as well as to address the problem of unemployment in the country. 


Basnet is also patron of the organisation set up after the 2015 earthquake to help in the immediate rescue and relief works. The NGO is now working to address the problems of the quake survivors as well as the financially backward groups of the society. RSS
