Colorful crowd at Basantapur on Holi (Photo Feature)

KATHMANDU, March 17: Holi, the festival of colors, was observed with huge fanfare in the mountainous and hilly regions of the country on Thursday. Nepalis, who were unable to celebrate Holi for the past two years due to the coronavirus pandemic, celebrated the festival with full enthusiasm this year.

KATHMANDU, March 17: Holi, the festival of colors, was observed with huge fanfare in the mountainous and hilly regions of the country on Thursday. Nepalis, who were unable to celebrate Holi for the past two years due to the coronavirus pandemic, celebrated the festival with full enthusiasm this year.


This Holi, a huge crowd including youngsters, senior citizens and children gathered at Basantapur, Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square, which is listed in the World Heritage List. They all seemed equally enthusiastic about playing Holi here.

People  throw colors and water at each other as part of the celebrations. Holi is being celebrated not only in Basantapur but also in different places of the country with zeal.
