Commercial banks earn profits of around Rs 40 billion during mid-July and mid-February

KATHMANDU, March 18: Commercial banks of the country earned profits of over Rs 39.39 billion in the first seven months of the current fiscal year.

KATHMANDU, March 18: Commercial banks of the country earned profits of over Rs 39.39 billion in the first seven months of the current fiscal year.


During the period between mid-July and mid-February in 2021/22, the class ‘A’ financial institutions earned profits of Rs 40.24 billion. In the review period, the profits declined by Rs 850 million.

Based on the financial statements of 20 out of 21 commercial banks, Nabil Bank secured the largest profit of Rs 4.13 billion. Prabhu Bank is yet to unveil its seventh month’s report.


NIC Asia earned Rs 3.67 billion, Global IME earned Rs 3.53 billion and Rastriya Banijya Bank earned Rs 3.06 billion. Likewise, Nepal Bank made a profit of Rs 1.70 billion, Nepal Investment Mega Bank earned Rs 2.70 billion and Standard Chartered Bank earned Rs 2.02 billion.
