The two-day gathering related to 'Comprehensive School Security' organised by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology concluded at Birendranagar expressed commitment to form the Comprehensive School Safety Club.
The meeting decided to bring practical curriculum and textbooks related to disaster risk management, exerting pressure to the three-tier government to build earthquake-resistant schools and implement school safety action plan.
Executive Director of National Society for Earthquake Technology Nepal, Surya Narayan Shrestha, said that the gathering was useful in terms of exchanging knowledge among schools to make schools safe from all types of risk, holding a discussion on existing rules and policy about safe school and action plan.
A total of 85 students from 28 schools of Karnali Province and Province 5 including 14 students and teachers of Maiko High School at Kobe city of Japan had participated in the meeting. Similarly, 40 experts from different organisations had also participated in the event.
