Communications minister presses for ensuring right to telecommunication services

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has stressed ensuring the right of the rural people to get accessible telecommunication services.

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has stressed ensuring the right of the rural people to get accessible telecommunication services. 


Speaking at a program after inspecting the Nepal Telecom Authority Office at Jamal on Monday, he called for the implementation of the plans and programs in an expeditious and effective manner so that no citizen is deprived of his/her right to avail as basic services as telecommunications in this age of information and technology.

Minister Karki directed the Nepal Telecom Authority to execute this year's plans and programs without any delay in the present COVID-19 situation. 


"Let there be no delay in the pretext of the coronavirus infection. The programs have to be made result-oriented and the government is ready to provide policy support to the Authority in this connection," the minister said.
