Communism has finally arrived in Nepal Media: Minister Baskota

KATHMANDU, June 27:  Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Gokul Baskota clarified that the government will implement the clean feed policy.

KATHMANDU, June 27:  Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Gokul Baskota has said that the government will implement the clean feed policy.


Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, the minister claimed that implying the clean feed policy will be fruitful in preserving the authentic Nepali culture. "The policy will also enhance a competitive strength in Nepali media," said the minister.

"Press freedom is an outcome of independent media. Press freedom will prosper along with a prosperous media.  The policy will overall enhance the media sector." Minister Baskota added.


Baskota clarified that the Advertisement Bill is currently under discussion in the parliament and will soon be endorsed.  


"This Bill will legally bind the media. I have clarified this in the parliament also. Whether you may like it or not, communism has made its mark in Nepali media," Baskota said.


"The cabinet reshuffle is in the hands of the PM. How can a minister know about the reshuffle?" he questioned.
