Common people feel disappointed for not allowing them to join Constitution Day ceremony at Tudikhel

KATHMANDU, Sept 20: Common public who thronged to Tundikhel in Kathmandu to observe the main ceremony organized to mark the fourth Constitution Day 2019 were barred from entering the program venue.

KATHMANDU, Sept 20: Common public who thronged to Tundikhel in Kathmandu to observe the main ceremony organized to mark the fourth Constitution Day 2019 were barred from entering the program venue.


The people expressed their dissatisfaction after they were stopped by the security personnel at the entry points citing security issue although the government earlier had announced one and all to join the ceremony with fanfare.

The persons who were viewing the ceremony from the walls outside were even asked to leave the place as the program was underway amid the presence of top dignitaries.


Parbati Karki, who came to Kathmandu from Tehrathum for the medical treatment, said that she was disappointed for not being able to join the ceremony. Similarly, Kamala Bohora who reached at Tundikhel with her children couldn’t enter the program venue.


The people said that the government went against its own announcement of making the Constitution Day auspicious.
