Complaints filed against two National Assembly candidates

KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Complaints have been filed against two candidates who filed their candidacies for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election.

KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Complaints have been filed against two candidates who filed their candidacies for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election.


According to Shaligram Sharma Poudel, spokesperson for the Election Commission of Nepal, complaints have been registered against Narayan Dutta Bhatt, a candidate under the people with disabilities category representing Nepali Congress from Sudurpaschim Province, and Bishnu BK, a candidate under the Dalit category representing CPN (Maoist Center) from Karnali Province.

Ramchandra Joshi of the CPN-UML filed the complaint against Bhatt stating that he lacked evidence to prove his physical disability while Hikmat BK of CPN-UML registered the complaint against BK claiming that his name was in the closed-list of the House of Representatives members' election.


A total of 52 candidates registered their nominations on Monday for the upper house election to be held on January 25 for 19 vacant posts.
