RAJBIRAJ, April 1: Upendra Yadav, Chairman of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) accused lack of ethics as one of the main reasons why the current government was unwilling to amend the constitution and address Madeshi issues.
He argued that the current government was aware that an amendment was required. However, what was concerning is that “they are not willing to do so by signing an agreement,” Yadav said in Rajbiraj today, adding that “such lackluster attitude and unwillingness to amend necessary section of the constitution could sprout conflict and protest.”

In turn, he urged the government to act responsibly and redress concerns and reservations of the Madeshi based parties. “Unless our demands are met, we will not join the government and are in no hurry whatsoever.”
In light of the Prime Minister’s maiden visit to India on April 6, Yadav urged the PM to propose a revision of foreign policy based on current changing scenario. “We should not use one neighbor against the other nor depend on only one,” Yadav, a former foreign minister said adding that “Nepal must maintain balance with two giant neighbors and prosperity was difficult to attain unless the southern neighbor was ‘confident.’”
Likewise, Yadav urged the Ministry of Finance to create enabling environment for investments and initiate policies that fits according to federal structure. “White paper is not a solution. What’s important is that the government creates enabling environment for investment.”
