KATHMANDU, June 9: A SAARC-level conference on the role of the local level in disaster management, reconstruction, energy and climate change is set to kick off from Monday.

During the two-day conference, the participants from SAARC member countries will exchange their experience and strategy for the disaster management and reconstruction and will help to identify and promulgate the strategies in the future, according to the organizers.
The program will be jointly organized by the Nepal Reconstruction Authority, National Federation of Rural Municipality, Nepal Municipality Union, United City and Local Government-Asia Pacific and European Union.
