KATHMANDU, March 1: The Conflict Victims Common Platform (CVCP) has called on the government to incorporate the survivors of a decade-long armed conflict in transitional justice process.

The three-day extended meeting of the Platform concluded on February 28 demanded the government involve the conflict survivors in the schedule of transitional justice process, in the amendment process of existing laws, reparation policy and the restructuring of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

In a press statement issued after the meeting, the Platform said that though it has been almost a month since the Transitional justice Act was amended, no concrete step is taken from the government to address the issues of victims. It has sought the government to immediately send a formal invitation to the Platform for talks.

The meeting has reconstituted the Platform's executive committee. A seven-member Extended Central Advisor Committee has been formed under the leadership of Platform founding chair Suman Adhikari while Sirjana Shrestha heads the National Network of Conflict Victim Women and the Kathmandu Valley Special Committee has been formed under the convenorship of Bhojraj Timilsina.

The meeting agreed to relieve Platform's (the then ) vice chair Gopal Shah and members Devi Sunuwar, Krishna Adhikari and Sabitri Shrestha from all sorts of official responsibilities, citing their deviations from the organisations rules and regulations, despite warnings. RSS
