Constitution amendment must to boost democracy: Leader Poudel

BIRGUNJ, Sept 28: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress, Ram Chandra Poudel, has said constitution should be amended to strengthen democracy. 


During a programme organized here as part of the discussion on amendment of the party statute here today, leader Poudel said the statute of the party was in need of amendment so that Nepali Congress would emerge stronger and competent. Federalism and inclusiveness would be considered while amending the party statute, he added.

On the occasion, Treasurer Sitadevi Yadav said the major reason the Nepali Congress based on democracy and socialism got severe blow in the three-tier of elections was the weak management within the party organization. 


Province 2 coordinator of the statute amendment committee, Dr Minendra Rijal, central members Mahalaxmi Upadhyay and others spoke how the party could be strengthened.
