Construction Entrepreneurs' Development Council decides to provide Rs 3 million to quake survivors

KATHMANDU, Dec 5: The Construction Entrepreneurs' Development Council (CEDC) has decided to provide Rs 3 million to the earthquake survivors.


A CEDC meeting held under the chairmanship of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport (MoPIT), Prakash Jwala, decided to provide Rs 3 million to the quake survivors for relief, reconstruction and educational materials, according to Joint Secretary at the MoPIT, Raghuram Bista.

Of the total amount, Rs 2.5 million will be provided for relief and reconstruction and half million rupees will be provided to purchase educational materials at schools.


Bista further said that the amount will be deposited in the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund.


The meeting also urged all sides concerned to extend support to the quake survivors who are battling cold at present.


Minister Jwala had already declared that he would also provide his one and half months salary to the quake-hit people as relief.
