SINDHULI, Nov 5: The construction of the Dharan-Chatara-Sindhuli-Hetauda road section along the Madan Bhandari Highway is in the final stage, according to the road project.
Despite obstruction at few sections along the roadway, more than 60 percent of construction work has already been completed. The construction of the road section, which is seen as an alternative to the East-West Highway, is divided into two parts – eastern part and western part.

The construction work in both eastern and western parts has been expedited, and a total of 60 percent of work has already been completed in both sections, according to the road project.
Keshav Prasad Ojha, information officer for the western section of the project, said the construction work of the 115-kilometer road section connecting Bhiman of Kamalamai Municipality of Sindhuli, and Hetauda Metropolitan City-6 of Makwanpur has been expedited in recent times. He further added that a 45-kilometer stretch of the same section has already been blacktopped.
According to the project, the western section comprises 33 bridges, 397 hume pipes, 19 box culverts, and 4 slab culverts. Likewise, a 50-kilometer long stretch has already been blacktopped in the eastern section, which is 134-kilomter long.
According to the project, the construction work will be expedited from the next week. Kalika/ Chwaschnanda/Raken JV got the contract to complete the work in the western section within three years. Likewise, ZIEC Sharma and Lama JV bagged the contract to complete the eastern section of the project.
The Dharan-Chatara-Sindhuli-Hetauda road section will be 11-meter wide, and its blacktopping will be completed in two phases.
