Minister Basnet urges one and all to work with govt to promoting green urbanization

KATHMANDU, Aug 9: Minister for Forest and Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet urged the people from all walks of the life of the society to join hands with the government to promoting green urbanization.

KATHMANDU, Aug 9: Minister for Forest and Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet urged the people from all walks of the life of the society to join hands with the government to promoting green urbanization.

Speaking at a tree plantation program organized at the Pashupatinath Temple premises on Friday to mark Land Conservation Day, Minister Basnet reiterated that the government is committed to promoting green urbanization through forestation campaign in various religious shrines and urban areas. 


He also said that environment conservation has become a challenging task due to increasing urbanization. ‘The government aims to plant fifty million trees in the current fiscal year in a bid to cope with this challenge,’ he added. 

 

Minister Basnet also directed the Pashupati Area Development Trust to focus on environment conservation.
