Coronavirus infection down to zero in Siraha

SIRAHA, Feb 6: Siraha district has reported zero cases of the coronavirus infection nearly 11 months after the virus was first detected in the district.

SIRAHA, Feb 6: Siraha district has reported zero cases of the coronavirus infection nearly 11 months after the virus was first detected in the district.


No new case of the coronavirus was reported in Siraha on Friday, according to the Chief District Officer Pradip Raj Kandel.

All quarantine and isolation centres are now without any suspected and infected people, hence they have remained empty for the past few days.


As of Friday, 12,450 people have undergone tests for COVID-19 in the district, with 1,648 of them testing positive.


Among them, 25 succumbed to COVID-19 while the rest successfully recovered, according to chief of the District Public Health Office, Krishna Dev Yadav.


Meanwhile, 3,287 people were administered COVID-19 vaccine in the district in the first phase of the vaccination drive. The local administration has set a target to immunize 3,930 people, a majority of them being health workers and other frontline workers. (RSS)
