KATHMANDU, Sept 21: Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has said the country would get a woman Prime Minister in the context that Nepal has already got women President, Chief Justice and Speaker.
NC President Deuba said this on Wednesday while handing over leadership to newly elected office-bearers and members of Nepal Women's Association, sister wing of the party.
Stating that women have been empowered with further rights after the promulgation of constitution through the Constituent Assembly, he said, "The constitution has provisions for more representation of women in local bodies' election, which are being held soon."
Moreover, he expressed the view that local, provincial and federal elections are indispensable in the country for the implementation of the constitution. He directed party's sister organisations including NWA to be active to make the party victorious in the local elections.

Similarly, NC leader and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Bimalendra Nidhi, said that the government was committed to implementing the constitution on the basis of understanding reached among power-sharing parties in course of the formation of present government.
DPM Nidhi also suggested NWA moving ahead taking the election in three-level as the major agenda.
Stating that there would be no victory and defeat in internal election of the party, NC Treasurer and Minister for Peace and Reconstruction, Sitadevi Yadav, expressed the view that the newly elected NWA working committee would only be successful if it moved ahead taking all sides together.
Former General Secretary of the NC, Krishna Sitaula, congratulated the newly elected NWA working committee and wished for its successful term while newly elected President of NWA, Uma Regmi, outgoing President Dr Dila Sangraula, among others expressed that all should unite to implement the rights of women guaranteed by the new constitution.
