Court orders withdrawal of victim's birth certificate in self-proclaimed ascetic Bamjan child abuse case

RAUTAHAT, June 7: In the ongoing child sexual abuse case against self-proclaimed ascetic Ram Bahadur Bamjan, currently held in Mahottari prison, the Sarlahi District Court has ordered the withdrawal of the victim girl's birth certificate.

RAUTAHAT, June 7: In the ongoing child sexual abuse case against self-proclaimed ascetic Ram Bahadur Bamjan, currently held in Mahottari prison, the Sarlahi District Court has ordered the withdrawal of the victim girl's birth certificate. Judge Binod Gautam's bench issued the order on Friday, according to Registrar Sadan Adhikari.


District Attorney Kailash Dahal of the Malangwa District Public Prosecutor's Office represented the plaintiff, while lawyers Sitaram Ghimire, Dilip Jha, and Manohar Jha defended Bamjan.

Bamjan has been detained in Mahottari Jail ever since his arrest on January 11. He was transferred to the Sarlahi District Court from Kathmandu under tight security.
