DHANKUTA, May 19: The number of infections from the second wave of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has spiked in Dhankuta district. According to the chief of the District Health Office, Tulsi Prasad Guragai, as many as 84 people tested positive for COVID-19 in tests conducted on Tuesday at Dhankuta Hospital. Among the infected, 50 are males while 34 are females.
Among the infected, 22 from Chaubise Rural Municipality have tested positive for COVID-19. Also, 26 people from Charthar Jorpati Rural Municipality have also tested positive for the virus.

Similarly, 18 people from Mahalaxmi Municipality tested positive for COVID-19. In addition, 12 people tested positive for the coronavirus in Dhankuta Municipality, five in Parkhibas Municipality and 1 in Sangurigadi Rural Municipality.
