COVID-19 patient dies at home isolation in Biratnagar

BIRATNAGAR, Aug 21: A COVID-19 patient staying at home isolation in Biratnagar died of COVID-19 on Friday.

BIRATNAGAR, Aug 21: A COVID-19 patient staying at home isolation in Biratnagar died of COVID-19 on Friday.


A 45-year old man from Biratnagar-6, Sarochiya died at his own house at around 8 pm on Thursday night.

After testing positive for the COVID-19 on August 19, he was asked to stay at self-isolation at home as there were no beds available in isolation centers set-up by the Metropolitan Office and Provincial government. The deceased person was also a patient of chronic diseases, according to his family members.


 This is the first case of a patient dying of COVID-19 while staying at home isolation in Province 1. As many as 341 COVID-19 patients are currently undergoing treatment in home isolation in Province 1 due to lack of availability of beds in isolation centers.


A total of nine people have succumbed to COVID-19 infection in Biratnagar Metropolitan City alone as of Thursday.
