KATHMANDU, July 6: CPN (Maoist Center) politburo members criticized the party leadership for extending the size of the party general convention organizing committee to 1500, during Tuesday's politburo.

Politburo members from all seven provinces, commenting on the party's organizational structure in the meeting, said the party would face challenge to manage leaders in the future.

"Our party structure has become unmanaged. It will eventually create frustration among the party leaders and cadres," said Maoist leader Narayan Dahal in the meeting. He told Republica that most of the party leaders during the meeting seconded his views.

CPN (Maoist Center) had decided to extend the size of the party's general convention organizing committee to 1500 members from 1100 members to please new aspirants in the party. But the party's rank and file have been criticizing the party leadership for taking the wrong decision.

Though the politburo meeting was expected to discuss whether to initiate process for forming consensus government or not, leaders did not enter into the issue, said another leader Hitman Tamang.

"As we have already entrusted the party chairman to initiate negotiations to form the consensus government, we did not enter into the issue. We believe that there is no meaning for us if we stick to this government in the existing condition," Chairman Dahal told Republica.

CPN (Maoist Center) is scheduled to discuss issues related to the formation of consensus government and other organizational issue on Wednesday.
