CPN-UML, NC for postponing provincial assembly meeting

BIRATNAGAR, Oct 24: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) and the main opposition CPN-UML have requested to postpone the provincial assembly meeting of Province 1.  Stating that Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will be visiting Province 1 to inspect the damages caused by the recent floods and landslides, members of NC have requested to postpone the assembly meeting in order to make arrangements for the PM’s visit.

BIRATNAGAR, Oct 24: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) and the main opposition CPN-UML have requested to postpone the provincial assembly meeting of Province 1.  Stating that Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will be visiting Province 1 to inspect the damages caused by the recent floods and landslides, members of NC have requested to postpone the assembly meeting in order to make arrangements for the PM’s visit. 


According to leader Rajiv Koirala of NC, they have requested to postpone the meeting in order to make preparations for the PM’s visit.

Likewise, the CPN-UML has also requested the assembly meetings to be postponed till November 1 as the municipal convention of the party is set to be held from October 26, standing committee meeting on October 28, and central committee meeting on October 29 and 30, according to CPN-UML Chief Whip Buddhi Kumar Rajbhandari. 


At the assembly meeting, Chief Minister of Province 1, Bhim Acharya will be seeking a vote of confidence. The meeting was called for 12PM on Sunday.
