Creative, Trikon win Kageshwari Inter-School Tournament

KATHMANDU, June 16: Highly Creative English School and Trikon School won the First Kageshwori Manohara Rural Municipality Inter-School Football Tournament on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, June 16: Highly Creative English School and Trikon School won the First Kageshwori Manohara Rural Municipality Inter-School Football Tournament on Saturday. 


In the tournament organized by the rural municipality ward seven, Creative defeated Christian Community School comfortably 7-0 in girls’ final, while Trikon won the boys’ final defeating Gandhi Adarsh School 4-3 in the penalty shootout.

In girls’ final, Garima Rai scored six goals, and Christi Gupta added one. The winner Creative was rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 10,000, while the runner-up got Rs 7,000. 


Also, Gupta was named the player of the tournament, while Rai scored 13 goals in the tournament to be named the highest scorer. 


In boys’ final, the match was pushed into penalty shootout after the score ended 1-1 in extra time. Sujan Syangtang gave Trikon the lead, while Jitendra Gurung pulled a goal back for Gandhi. 


The winner of the tournament was rewarded with Rs 15,000, while the runner-up received Rs 10,000. Trikon’s Bikash Bal and Syangtang were named the best player and the highest goal scorer of the tournament.
