TANAHU, Aug 17: Following a rise in the cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) at the community level, curfew orders have been enforced in Vyas and Bhanu municipalities of Tanahu district from Monday.
The local administration has clamped curfew in Vyas Municipality for one week and Bhanu Municipality for two weeks.

According to the Chief District Officer Sagar Acharya, the curfew orders in Vyas Municipality will be in effect till Aug 23 and in Bhanu Municipality till Aug 30. “All services except the emergency ones will be suspended in these areas during these periods.”
Likewise, banking services and other activities related to the COVID-19 management will be allowed to operate during this period.
Markets will also be allowed to open following the health safety guidelines for purchase of daily essentials in both local units.
So far 32 community level transmissions of COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the district. Of the 32 cases, 24 are from Bhanu Municipality, five from Vyas Municipality, two from Devghat Rural Municipality and one from Bandipur Rural Municipality.
The local administration has also warned of legal punishment if anybody is found defying the curfew orders.
