KATHMANDU, June 14: Daayitwa, a non-profit organization launched the 2021 Public Policy Fellowship on Friday.
The organization in a statement said that six fellows, selected from a record 107 applicants trained in eight countries, will work in five government organizations including National Planning Commission, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, and Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens.

Addressing the need for evidence-based policy making and collaboration between the government and youths, Nepal Rastra Bank’s Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari in the virtual event said “Our system of ad hoc creation of policy-making needs to be improved. The fellowship is the antithesis of the brain drain problem of our country. The expertise of the Fellows can support us in creating policies based on evidence.”
Similarly, Daayitwa’s Executive Chairperson Dr Pukar Malla, emphasized on the essence of the initiative, stating that the Fellowship had strengthened trust and collaboration among youth, government, and the private sector over the last 9 years and contributed to the collective goal of innovation, good governance and economic growth.
