DARCHULA, Jan 14: The District Administration Office, Darchula, has issued an order for the general public to carry vaccination cards along with them from January 20.
Although the Office, issuing a seven-point order, asked the people to carry vaccination cards with them or to show it on their mobile phones mandatorily, there is shortage of vaccines against the coronavirus in the district.
All the vaccination centers in the district had run out of stock on Thursday. Information Officer at the Health Office, Khagendra Karki, said, "We have demanded vaccines and it will be available in the district within a couple of days. Only 77 percent of people have received vaccines in the district so far."

The order issued by Chief District Officer Dirgha Raj Upadhyay has restricted any gathering of more than 25 people at public places and operation of political, social, religious programs and festivals.
In case of necessary functions, one should take permission from the District Administration Office and strictly follow the health safety protocols.
The District Administration Office has put in place restrictions such as not allowing public vehicles to carry passengers more than the stipulated number and wearing masks mandatorily. Similarly, citizens entering the district from different parts of India and other districts within the country will have to stay in home quarantine under the supervision of the Health Section of the local levels.
Seventeen people were found infected with the novel coronavirus in the district until Thursday. The infection is mostly found in the Nepali migrant workers returning home from India while carrying out tests for the infection at the border transit point.
The tests are conducted at Pulghat and Jaulajibi checkpoints of Darchula bordering India. Chief District Officer Upadhyay said that health screening has been made stricter at the border checkpoints in view of the soaring cases of the Omicron variant infection in India.
