DHANUSHA, Mar 3: The Daughter Education Insurance Program launched in eight rural municipalities in State-2 has come into effect throughout the State.
Organizing a press conference here on Sunday, Chief Minister of State-2, Lal Babu Raut, said that the insurance programme has been implemented in the State since January 15, 2019.
The baby girls born on January 15 and thereafter would be brought under the insurance scheme of Rs 125,000. The State government has already made an agreement with Prabhu Bank for the same.
The State government deposits Rs 125,000 in the name of each newly born baby girls which will be provided to the beneficiary 20 years later in a lump sum with interest.

However, if the beneficiary needs money for educational purpose, certain amount could be withdrawn from the bank at the recommendation of the State government, according to Chief Minister Raut.
The parents of the newly born baby girl need to submit a photo of the newborn, copies of her parents' citizenship identity card and recommendation from the ward office.
Volunteers would be mobilized to make sure the program is effectively launched and forwarded.
The provincial government, which had launched 'Beti Bachau, Beti Padhau' (Educate girls, Save girls) with an objective to empower girls, has provided Rs 500 million as a special grant (subsidy).
Meanwhile, CM Raut, addressing an interaction organized by Chetana Nepal at Janakpur today said that they would not accept any activities against federalism.
Saying that his government would be in forefront to fight the activities that were aimed at fouling federalism, which the CM argued, was achieved after sacrifices of hundreds of Madhesi youths.
The Chief Minister also asserted that they would not accept the Bills relating to the internal security brought against the spirit of the constitution and federalism.
Arguing the implementation of the new constitution in letter and spirit was the need of the hour, he warned to resort to the constitutional court if any activities are carried out against the constitution.
Present at the program were Chairman of Chetan Nepal and National Assembly member Brijesh Chandra Lal, Rastriya Janata Party Presidium member Mahantha Thakur, Nepali Congress's Vice-President and former Deputy Prime Minister Bimalendra Nidhi, NCP leader Ram Chandra Mandal as well as civil society leader Asagar Ali among others who presented their views on the challenges facing in curse of implementation of new constitution.
