KATHMANDU, May 21: Protestors have taken to the streets for the second consecutive day on Saturday demanding justice for victims of sexual violence.
They have mounted protests after a survivor of sexual violence shared her harrowing experience through social media a few days ago. One of their key demand is to remove statute of limitation to file cases against sexual violence including rape.

The protesters gathered at Maitighar, Kathmandu on Saturday demanded punishment to perpetrators of such crimes and ensure fast track court proceedings to deal with crimes related to sexual abuse. A protest for the same was also held at Naxal on Friday.
The protestors have also demanded revising existing penalties in the case of sexual abuse of women and girls. The agitating right activists carried placards that read “A woman was harassed here,” “Remove statute of limitations for rape and sexual violence,” “Enable fast track courts for rape and sexual violence,” and “Provide support to survivors.”
