Defending Champion Nepal goes down 2-0 to Tajikistan

KATHMANDU, Oct 2: Defending champion Nepal has suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hand of Tajikistan in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup tournament held at Sylhet Jilla stadium in Bangladesh on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, Oct 2: Defending champion Nepal has suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hand of Tajikistan in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup tournament held at Sylhet Jilla stadium in Bangladesh on Tuesday.


Tajikistan scored a first goal against Nepal at the 26th minute through penalty for the foul committed by Ananta Tamang. It doubled the score at the 68th minute.

Categorized into Group 'A' alongside Palestine and Tajikistan, Nepal is also scheduled to play against Palestine on October 5. 


Hosts Bangladesh, Philippines and Laos are categorized into Group 'B'.
