KATHMANDU, Sept 20: A group of people staged a demonstration in Kathmandu on Monday demanding the government to legalize marijuana in Nepal.
The demonstrators also sought the release of Rajiv Kafle, who was arrested two weeks ago for possessioning marijuana.

They have demanded the government to boost the country's economy by legalizing marijuana. The protesters carried placards with slogans such as “The country is not spoiled by marijuana smokers, but by the ones who don’t” and “Marijuana is the food of half of the Nepalis”.
Two weeks ago, Nepal Police arrested Kafle from Kathmandu on charges of consuming and selling marijuana.
